The National Portrait Gallery in Edinburgh has a wide range of portraits of Scottish celebrities, from royalty such as Queen Mary Stuart to contemporary actors. There are portraits of poets, writers and national heroes. You can see images of the poet Robert Burns, the writer Walter Scott and the philosopher David Hume captured on canvas.
